The MatriBirth Directory is dedicated to placing birth back into the hands of women. We are at the forefront of a movement that centers mothers as powerful creative beings who deserve the utmost respect, honor, and reverence. We support the proliferation of nonheirchchal support from wise woman professionals.

Prenatal and

Support
This is your highly sought-after directory of sovereign, non-medical radical birth keepers around the world, who will honor birth as a normal and biological event that does not inherently require medical management. Connect with women who have been trained in the teachings of sovereign midwifery by Emilee Saldaya and Yolande Norris-Clark of Free Birth Society, as well as those who have been called to village midwifery by their communities. This is the only directory for birth attendants who truly practice in the consciousness and integrity of the freebirth movement, entirely outside of the medical paradigm.
Postpartum
Support
Find a postpartum support professional in your area or online to care for you as you move through the fourth trimester with honor and reverence for the motherbaby dyad. You’ll find practitioners who are committed to protecting and nurturing the sacred 40-day postpartum period, the golden opportunities of postpartum healing, and the lifelong health for you and your baby through in-home physical support, online coaching, breastfeeding education, and a variety of other postpartum offerings.

These sessions are intended to be a safe space to share your unfiltered birth story and gain clarity on any areas of confusion, as well as process any trauma associated with your birth. Commonly known as “Birth Trauma Debriefs”, this method of healing was coined by Emilee Saldaya and Yolande Norris Clark and is now offered by countless women around the world.


The Six Tiers of Our Birth Professionals
MatriBirth Mentor
This is the highest level of education and certification one can achieve through Free Birth Society at this time. To become a MatriBirth Mentor, one must have completed our year-long sovereign midwifery school, The MatriBirth Midwifery Institute, completed the required reading list, have passed the examinations, and have had attended at least 6 sovereign births.
MatriBirth Guide
A MatriBirth Guide, is a woman who has completed The Radical Birth Keeper School, attended 3 sovereign births, completed our required reading, and passed the school exam.
MatriBirth Guides have completed an 8-week foundational program introducing the important concepts of sovereign midwifery and what it means to truly center a woman during birth.
Non-FBS Affiliated Professional
A Non-FBS Educated Professional is a woman who has not completed any of the trainings, schools, programs, or institutes provided by Free Birth Society. These women have not taken Free Birth Society’s birth training programs or been intimately involved in our mentorship-based professional community. We support women to pursue their calling towards birth-work outside of any educational requirements, and these women self identify as a sovereign birth-workers, have paid their membership dues, and are in good standing with Free Birth Society.

These are women who have graduated from The MatriBirth Midwifery Institute.
Blood Mysteries School
Graduate
These are women who have graduated from the Blood Mysteries School.
Radical Birth Keeper School Graduate
These are women who have graduated from The Radical Birth Keeper School.
